Press Conference – Contemporary Mosaic Map of Ravenna

Press conference to present the first Contemporary Mosaic Map, which represents the first census of modern and contemporary mosaics in the city.
The idea originated from Serena Simoni and Cristina Morigi, art history teachers at the Ravenna Liceo Artistico, with the sponsorship of the City of Ravenna and the coordination of Elena Pagani. The project led to the creation of a paper map that collects and locates more than 70 sites dedicated to contemporary mosaic.
The work was carried out in collaboration with the MAR (Ravenna Art Museum), the Tourism Office and the Culture Office of the City of Ravenna, the Liceo Artistico and the Fine Arts Academy of Ravenna. Activities included research of the works, interviews with the authors, contacts with studios and mosaicists, documentation, data recording, and the design of the map.
