Orodè Deoro – ll primo tempio e Futuro d’amore

Opening: 18 October at 4,30 p.m.
Following the exhibition Mosaici e Carte dipinte (Mosaics and Painted Papers), curated by Daniele Torcellini and held at the Sigismondo Castromediano Museum and the Bernardini Library in Lecce from 23 May to 28 September, two works by the eccentric Salento artist Orodè Deoro, Il primo tempio (The First Temple) and Futuro d’amore (Future of Love), are presented in Ravenna at the National Museum, on the occasion of the IX Biennale di Mosaico Contemporaneo (9th Biennial of Contemporary Mosaics). Already active in Ravenna in the past, Orodè Deoro (Taranto, 1974) lives and works in Lecce. A visual artist with a multifaceted language, his research ranges from ceramic mosaics to painting and action painting performances in multidisciplinary contexts. Through a keen taste for colour and sinuous profiles, the artist embodies a visionary and poetic imagery in mosaic – made up of symbols, portraits, self-portraits, memories, references to literature, history, religion or mythology – the result of a profound feeling that has to do with ethical, existential and spiritual issues.
