Ravenna Academy of Fine Arts – ORNITHO-LOGICA

Curated by Valeria Tassinari. Ornitho-logica is an installation by students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna which, thanks to an agreement with the National Museums of Ravenna, will be staged at the Roman Villa in Russi during the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic.
Inspired by Giotto’s Sermon to the Birds, Ornitho-logica is the result of a workshop held by artist Marco Pellizzola, in collaboration with the Almagià network, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna during the 2023/2024 academic year.
For the first time, this extraordinary archaeological site is hosting a contemporary art installation. As part of the programme of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, the 17 mosaic crows find a new setting in the ancient spaces of the villa in Russi.
