A solo exhibition of art works by Matylda Tracewska.
In her latest works, Matylda Tracewska draws inspiration from the tradition of Pierre à image and the aesthetics of Far Eastern stone gardens. The artist’s interventions on the stone are minimal, allowing the viewer to engage their imagination.
The pictorial details that appear on the stone surface draw the attentive eye to the creative process which the artist, in a sense, shares with the viewer.
This interactive nature of the works allows for a unique form of communication with the observer.
The stone used by the artist, whether as a seemingly silent medium or as a constituent element of the material in her works, also takes on, in this context, transcendent and meditative functions.
