Loretta Merenda – Mosaico in 100 bottiglie

The exhibition exposes 100 shapes of Murano glass’s bottles. It concerns plastic hand works that plays on colour, transparence and opacity, gained by sheets of Murano glass. On the initial form tesseras, murrine, fragments, on purpose cut glasses, hot bended strings are placed on; all these elements treated as glass fusion and glass shape make numberless versions of the same basilar model, the most trite bottle. The 100 aligned shapes supply a strong expressive whole where repetition and variation on theme bring into harmony the complete work.
