La città dell’Arte: il mosaico e oltre
Experts, artists and architects discuss the past and future of mosaic art
On Friday 24 and Saturday 25 November, as part of the 2017 Mosaic Biennale, the conference ‘La città dell’arte’ will be held in Ravenna, at Casa Matha. The title refers to cities of art not only as repositories of history, but also as sources of inspiration for the creation of contemporary art. The conference, focusing specifically on the relationship between architecture – ‘useful art’ – and the other arts, particularly mosaics, aims to move beyond merely revelling in a past rich in notable events, in order to turn it into a useful resource for shaping the future.
