Incursioni: Mosaici Ruvidi

Based on the well-established experience in tactile mosaics led by Cestha and Artificio Digitale – which was recently the subject of a European call for proposals won by MAR – the Accademia’s TeCLab workshop aims to take the exploration of tactile communication a step further by integrating the latest 3D scanning and printing technologies with the finest traditional craftsmanship in mosaic-making.
The aim is to create three mosaic panels using both tiles made from materials such as concrete, wood and rubber, and tiles specially 3D-printed, whilst allowing for both a three-dimensional interpretation and a tactile ‘surface-level’ interpretation.
