IL FILO e LE ALI – Dante Eco Green – Il Giardino del Labirinto: un percorso di consapevolezza
The project for the garden in front of Ravenna Prison involves the creation of a mosaic floor labyrinth inspired by the one in the Basilica of San Vitale. The ‘Dante Eco Green’ theme draws inspiration from the natural elements found in Dante’s work. The path will be formed using triangular modules, both as a reference to the triangular inlay found in the labyrinth at San Vitale and as a guide pointing towards the direction of ‘And so we went forth to see the stars once more.’ (Inferno XXXIV, 139). One of the most significant objectives of the entire project is the involvement of schools and all the artists, mosaicists and professionals who trained at the art schools in Ravenna and the surrounding province, as well as the inmates of the prison. Based on an idea by Giampiero Corelli. In collaboration with LandShapes by Paolo Gueltrini.
Friday 6 October 2017 at 5.00 pm: inauguration of the worksite in the garden in front of Ravenna Prison, with the installation of explanatory panels, a temporary exhibition of prototypes and a selection of mosaic works related to the project.
