Following its preview in Ravenna, in the Manica Lunga of the Biblioteca Classense, the GAeM Award – Young Artists and Mosaics is coming to Venice for the first time. The GAeM – Young Artists and Mosaic exhibition is on display in the Domus Orsoni at Orsoni Venezia 1888, alongside the presentation of a special project dedicated to the work Due amanti non identificati in auto (2025) by artist Omar Mismar, within an international context coinciding with the 61st Venice Biennale.
Created in collaboration with Orsoni Venezia 1888 and the Cingoli Foundation, and curated by Sabina Ghinassi and Antonio Rocca, the GAeM Award explores the work of the new generations working with mosaic, moving freely between philology, experimentation and unconventional practices. A privileged vantage point on the vitality of an ancient language, capable of reinventing itself and engaging with the pressing issues of the present.
The artists exhibiting in Venice are: Adelaida Sharakhova, Aleda Shqalsi, Anica Kitanoska, Elena Andreea Diaconita, Elisa Pietracito, Gaia Liberatore, Giovanni Manara, Greta Di Naccio, Jessica Ferro, Luca Federico Ferrero (winner in the section dedicated to unconventional and experimental languages), Pedro Silvani, Sofia Liapis (winner in the section dedicated to traditional mosaic), Vera Belikova, Yuyu Zhao and Silvia Mantellini Faieta (special mention).
After Venice, the GAeM Prize will move on to Roseto degli Abruzzi, at the Fondazione Cingoli, thus continuing its travelling nature, which broadens the project’s reach and strengthens its cultural impact.
