Elisa Brighi and Evelina Garoni – Tomo

Elisa Brighi and Evelina Garoni of Dimensione mosaico continue the To-mò project, initiated and presented at the 2019 Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic. To-mò is an expression from Romagna that expresses wonder, on this occasion in seeing words transformed into mosaic. The Tomo becomes a container of marble and glass tesserae and, just as the tesserae is part of a mosaic, the tome is part of something bigger: the encyclopaedia. Inside each tome is a work that translates, using the mosaic technique, a coincetion linked to the corresponding tome. The encyclopaedia is thus transformed into a mosaicopaedia and itself becomes a small wunderkammer.
