Circles of Dante

On the occasion of the 8th Edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, the Amata Brancaleone APS Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Ravenna and the Ravenna Superintendency, proposed a permanent decoration project of the former fountain of Rocca Brancaleone, now used as a flowerbed. The fountain dates from around 1980 and has a structure that echoes three circles that intersect each other horizontally. It reminds the theme of the Circles and the three Canticles of the Divine Comedy. Were chosen the illustrations of Dante’s work by William Blake, suspended between dream and nightmare.
Gironi Danteschi (lit. Circles of Dante) is a work designed and created by mosaicist Anna Agati, in collaboration with the Ravenna Academy of Fine Arts (Lorenzo Baruzzi, Daniela Guzzinati, Anna De Luca, Parisa Dehghani and Marica Zanga), Arch. Tito Palmieri and the Amata Brancaleone Aps Association.
