CaCO3 – The Idea of Emptiness

The exhibition L’idea del vuoto (lit. The idea of emptiness), curated by Eleonora Savorelli, features the works of the CaCO3 group. By nature they are fulfilled in the combination of matter/light as one cannot be separated from the other, in a “spatial concept”, to quote Lucio Fontana verbatim, that is also defined by the interaction between solids and voids.
It is the idea of the void that fills. The impalpable light glides and penetrates the material, breaking down and recomposing itself in the mosaic fragmentation, giving the sensation of another or deeper dimension that brings our perception into a contemplative state.
