The Bibliomosaico exhibition was conceived by Rosetta Berardi in 2009 with the aim of encouraging reflection on the form of the book, on the representation of the ‘book’ as an object that asks to be looked at rather than read – a ‘non-book’, a ‘book-object’, a book which, whilst having lost its verbal content, has gained its own specific conceptual significance as an ‘open work’. An exercise in creativity that communicates its own free expressive autonomy through the technique of mosaic.
It is not a question of the book becoming a work of art, but of the work of art becoming, or evoking, the book.
The works created for the space hosting them, Edizioni del Girasole, will be exhibited amongst the paper books.
