Alessandra Rota – Beats per minute

Battiti per minuto (lit. Beats per minute) is an exhibition of works by Alessandra Rota, curated by Roberto Pagnani. Artistically trained in Milan, where she also worked in the world of design, she finds inspiration in Japanese ukyio-e. The artist proposes a sound mosaic, with tesserae carved from wood to emphasise her strong poetic relationship with nature. The exhibition project includes the participation of musician Francesco Tedde who will work on the vibration of sounds in synergy with the mosaicist. The tesserae transmit their movement to the other tesserae next to them, causing a local variation of pressure: in this way, a simple vibratory movement mechanically propagates, giving rise to a sound wave.
