The dead city by Ettore Sottsass

The project, curated by the Dis-ORDINE Association in collaboration with the MAR – Ravenna Art Museum, is part of the Design and Mosaic section of the Mosaic Biennial. With the support of the Raul Gardini Foundation, a mosaic work designed in January 2007 by designer Ettore Sottsass will be created to be placed in the heliport space of Villa Monaldina.
The work will be executed using the Ravenna-Byzantine mosaic technique by former students, alumni and teachers of the Ravenna Art Schools. Initially made on a 1:1 scale, the final dimensions will be determined later. The work will be exhibited together with the original design and 3D model made by Ettore Sottsass.
