Oxana Panyuskina – From Silver Thread to Golden Thread

Exhibition curated by Giuliano Babini, works by Oxana Panyuskina. In the history of Russian poetry, the Silver Age is an artistic period that began at the turn of the 19th century and ended in the late 1920s. It encompasses a vast number of poets who had the ability to create genres and literary styles using an intellectual language, based on symbols and meanings that were difficult to understand and interpret, in order to make their language covert for the regime of the time. The artist’s research is a human journey, but also a historical and cultural one, so that without barriers, that silver thread overlaps and merges with the golden thread that connects the mosaics of the city of Ravenna, the legacy of ancient Byzantine civilisation.
