Nomos Empsychos – Fabio Tramonti

Nomos Empsychos is an exhibition with works by Fabio Tramonti, curated by the Dis-Ordine Association. A reflection that starts from the Paleochristian mosaics of Ravenna and the concept of ‘Total State’, through the characters depicted in the mosaics. Frontality is the only form of expression allowed. A Total State is precisely an ideologised State, in which certain watchwords assume greater importance than that of the individual, generating an apparently rational attitude, which in reality is entirely dogmatic and fideistic, and which is expressed in the concept of Nomos Empsychos, that is, “Incarnation of the Law”. In Tramonti’s works, there is a search for balance between Byzantine absolutist symbols and concepts and the current era, dominated by narcissism and consumerism.
