Roberta Cacciatore – Building banks to twist rivers

The art-work Costruire argini per torcere fiumi (lit. Building banks to twist rivers) originates from a study of the relationship between the city and the complex river system that has determined its urban and social evolution. Rivers that intertwine, rivers that form swamps, rivers that disappear, join, overflow, rivers in flood, rivers that are said to arrive here from afar and then die in the Adriatic Sea. The geographies narrated in the city’s ancient river maps contributed to the construction of iconographic imagery. From the photographic archives faces, gestures, landscapes were collected, asking them to become witnesses of a past memory.
As part of the project Giovani Artisti e Mosaico – “Residenze Musive,” “Constellazione – Giovani connessioni creative” – GA/ER Giovani Artisti – Emilia-Romagna, curated by Ambra D’Atri.
