Subsidenze Urban Art Festival 2023

The Cultural Association Indastria, for the 9th Edition of Subsidenze Urban Art Festival, curated by Marco Miccoli, on the occasion of the 8th Edition of the Contemporary Mosaic Biennial, commissioned Giovanni ‘ReFreshink’ Magnoli to create a mural next to the MAR – Ravenna Art Museum, which conceptually takes up the ancient mosaic technique and relates ancient and contemporary art. Iconosaik is the most recent project by Giovanni Magnoli, who trained in the late 1980s, working with graffiti and experimenting with heterogeneous languages and styles over time. Having reproduced the Roman and Byzantine mosaic technique in painting, one can now admire Bansky‘s Flower Thrower, present at the MAR, in an unprecedented version created by the juxtaposition of colours, which creates an effect that amazes.
