GAeM Giovani Artisti e Mosaico

The MAR is organising the Fourth Edition of the GaeM International Prize – Young Artists and Mosaics. The aim of the prize is to promote contemporary mosaic art, both in its forms rooted in historical tradition and in its most innovative and experimental forms.
The competition involves the awarding of three prizes, the staging of a major group exhibition at the Classense Library in Ravenna, and the publication of the selected works in a catalogue. Artists are asked to develop a body of work that adheres to the fundamental, formal and poetic principles of the language of mosaic, whilst enjoying complete stylistic and technical freedom – ranging from traditional mosaic to experiments with new forms of expression – through the use of traditional mosaic materials and techniques, as well as artistic materials and techniques of any kind, including unconventional ones. The competition is open to all artists under the age of 40, with no restrictions on nationality or other qualifications.
