Racconti Fantastici by Giuliano Babini

A story in which fantastic animals animate an ancient place in Ravenna with their mosaic coats. The main hall of Casa Matha, with its rich history, houses the mosaic sculptures engendered by the imagination and hands of Giuliano Babini. Against a dense and gloomy twilight background, beasts and animals embellished with shiny stones are brought to life. A small bestiary with a medieval flavour in which the animals’ enigmatic and soft steps mark a surreal time. With these works, Babini travels an emotional and creative path that finds expression through the intelligent use of vitreous enamels, marble and waxed tiles.
