GAeM – Young Artist and Mosaic

MAR – Ravenna Art Museum announces the 5th Edition of the International Award GAeM – Young Artists and Mosaic. The Award aims to promote contemporary mosaic, in both its expressions of been linked to historical tradition and of exploring innovative and experimental aspects.
GAeM Award, provided by MAR – Ravenna Art Museum and CIDM – International Centre for Mosaic Documentation , is sponsored by Emilia-Romagna region.
It is divided in four main sections corresponding to four different awards assignment and it will provide for a collective exhibition, curated by Art Museum of Ravenna City and for a publication of selected artworks catalogue.
The exhibition will be part of the program of 6th edition of RavennaMosaico – Biennial Contemporary Mosaic. In 2020 the exhibition will be displayed in Roseto degli Abruzzi (city in Abruzzo region) at Villa Paris, exhibition space of Fondazione Cingoli.
The International Award GAeM -Young Artists and Mosaic is a free subject competition, the artists are asked to develop a research conforming to formal and poetic precepts of mosaic language.
 
FINALIST WORKS SELECTED
After examination of 68 candidates, the Jury, chaired by the Director of the MAR, Maurizio Tarantino, selected the following works, which will be exhibited at Palazzo Rasponi in Ravenna, on the occasion of RavennaMosaico  (6 October – 24 November 2019). 
Winning artists will be contacted directly for all appropriate arrangements.
