Lab Mosaico – Mood Mosaico

Three artists, Virna Valli, Annalisa Marcucci and Elisabeth Ragon, have shared the studio at Via di Roma 40a, embarking on a journey through different ways of approaching mosaic art: from meticulous, painstaking execution to the spaciousness and breathing room of expansive fields of colour that serve as a pause within the most intimate narratives. Like a wave that overwhelms you, or at times caresses you, so too does the expression of art shift, following the tides of those who, with their hands, hearts and minds, seek to navigate these difficult waters. The spirit of the artist creating a mosaic is sometimes hard to glimpse, precisely because in mosaic it is difficult to convey with a heavy hand what is immediately perceptible in painting: the gestural quality, the defining feature of the ‘mood’ of this exhibition.
